Lakes Entrance

What a wonderful holiday awaits you at Lakes Entrance, Victoria in southern Australia. Where the lakes meet the sea, the area is packed full of great things to do and fantastic Lakes Entrance accommodation to come home to at the end of a busy day.

Situated to the east of Melbourne along the Princess Highway, the Gippsland Lakes meet the Southern Ocean, so there are many water-based activities. Walk the footbridge to Ninety Mile Beach and swim between the life-saving flags in the summer months.

Lakes Entrance weather is quite cool in winter so you may enjoy numerous other activities. Go for a hike to the actual entrance of the Lakes. Go sailing or hire a paddleboat to explore the Lakes. Enjoy some fishing or visit the wharf to see the day's catch.

With your Lakes Entrance map, visit Jemmy's Point for a bird's eye view of the area – don't forget to take the camera! If you love wine, then join the 'Corque' and cruise over to Lakes Entrance Wyanga Park Winery for tastings, or a meal. There are many scenic drives to take round the Lakes. Why not play a round of golf at either of the two Lakes Entrance golf courses or play mini golf?

Take a tramp through some of the National Parks. The Lakes National Park is low lying woodland and includes Rotamah Island. Enjoy the self guided Lake Reeve Nature Trail. Go for a drive to Buchan Caves Reserve and take a guided tour through the limestone caves to Fairy Cave and others.
